Cubbie Group was formed by a merger of the Blache Cotton and Cubbie Station property groups. The merger also involved the introduction of some private equity (4% of the public unlisted entity). The properties are located near Dirranbandi and St George in South West Queensland, the total holding is 93,000 hectares. The Group has around $475M in assets and directly employs up to 50 people with a further 120 people employed as contractors and/or consultants. It was formed as a merger of the Blache Cotton and Cubbie family groups. The Group is headquartered in Dirranbandi, approximately 7 hours south west of Brisbane. It has two primary administrative areas based in Dirranbandi and St George. Keith De Lacy is the group's Chairman and is supported by Peter Forbes as independent director. John Grabbe and Paul Brimblecombe are joint managing directors. Cubbie Group management aims to be a setter of standards with respect to environmental sustainability in irrigated agriculture. Management strives to produce commodities that will take full advantage of the surging demand for Australian products from consumers and potential demand for crops for industrial use. the group is capable of producing a wide variety of irrigated agriculture including cotton, wheat, sorghum, sunflowers, barley, chickpeas and corn.
